Primary Areas of Interest

Material Testing

We at Ahmedabad Engineering Research Institute are an experienced material testing laboratory with an experienced crew who operate with a variety of equipment including the Universal Testing Machine, Compression Testing Machine, Vicat apparatus, Los Angeles abrasion machine, and others.

Steel test, Concrete cube test, Cement test, Coarse aggregate test, Fine aggregate test, Bricks test, Paver block test, AAC block test are among the material tests and bituminous tests carried out at AERI.

Non-Destructive Testing

The Ahmedabad Engineering Studies Institute is well-known for its non-destructive testing research. When construction workers are unsure about concrete and R.C.C. constructions, we can assist them. Our area of competence is non-destructive testing for both old and new structures. We have a valuable imported Proseg Rebound Hammer in our testing equipment, which provides excellent reproducibility. Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test (Pundit) or Digital Auto Record Type (Pundit), profilometer for rebar position, etc. This is reinforced by a convenient Hilty core cutting machine that can harvest core from various locations and positions of R.C.C elements to measure concrete strength in-situ. The equipment can only access the concrete's quality. It necessitates suitable methods as well as understanding. We also have the necessary manpower in terms of technicians and engineers who interpret results. We take on the task of analyzing existing structures such as bridges, jetties, buildings, and other R.C.C. constructions, as well as in situ concrete quality control. We also perform Half Cell Potentiometer, Structure Stability Works & Validation, and Certifying Quality of Work and Contractors.

Field Testing

Soil field testing is also done at the Ahmedabad Engineering Research Institute. The field tests allow for a consistent description of soil, as well as the development of information for preliminary soil type identification during field mapping and site research. Standard Penetration Test (SPT). The standard penetration test is an in-situ test that belongs to the penetrometer test category. In a borehole, typical penetration testing is performed. The test will determine how resistant the soil strata are to penetration. Between the soil parameters and the penetration resistance plate load test, an empirical connection is derived. A Plate Load Test is a field test used to estimate the soil's ultimate bearing capacity and the likelihood of settling under a specific load. The test entails loading a rigid plate at the foundation level and measuring the amount of settlement that results from each load increment. The load at which the plate begins to sink at a rapid pace becomes the ultimate bearing capacity. The Ahmedabad Engineering Research Institute offers a variety of exams.

Soil Investigation

A Plate Load Test is a field test used to estimate the soil's ultimate bearing capacity and the likelihood of settling under a specific load. The test entails loading a rigid plate at the foundation level and measuring the amount of settlement that results from each load increment. The load at which the plate begins to sink at a rapid pace becomes the ultimate bearing capacity. The Ahmedabad Engineering Research Institute offers a variety of exams. If the soil's strength is insufficient to support the increased weight, the foundations must be improved by inserting piling or widening and reinforcing the footing to better support the higher load. Ahmedabad Engineering Research Institute offers all of these services. The results of the soil research assist the geotechnical engineer in determining which form of foundation will best sustain the construction economically. Ahmedabad Engineering Research Institute, which owns and operates a NABL-accredited Material Testing Laboratory, is responsible for all of the above. With experienced workers, both field and laboratory setups are possible.

Mix Design

The process of determining the proper quantities of cement, sand, water, and aggregates for concrete to provide the desired strength in construction is known as concrete mix design. To discover the proper mix proportions, concrete mix design entails several stages, calculations, and laboratory testing. This method is typically used for constructions that require higher concrete grades, such as M25 and above, as well as big construction projects with significant concrete consumption. The advantage of concrete mix design is that it gives the proper quantities of components, making the concrete building more cost-effective in terms of providing the required structural strength. Because big-scale structures necessitate a considerable amount of concrete, and economy in the number of materials such as cement makes the project construction economical.

Water Testing

Ahmedabad Engineering Research Institute is concerned about everyone's health, thus we've expanded our testing capabilities to include water testing. We are here to make you aware of the existence of contaminants in drinking water and the growing hardness of usable water, which is a big problem nowadays. The following tests, offered by Ahmedabad Engineering Research Institute, can be used to verify your water (drinking and usable). Hardness, Chloride, Fluoride, TDS, and more services are available.
